CBWV strives to be the leading trade association for community banks in West Virginia committed to creating and enhancing value for our members.

About the Association

Community banks will always be the backbone of West Virginia’s banking system. Community banks are the cornerstone in our communities — we help build better communities!

In 1995, a group of concerned community bankers convened in Flatwoods, WV and organized a new trade association – West Virginia Association of Community Bankers – now called Community Bankers of West Virginia.  Community Bankers of West Virginia represents the interests of community banks in West Virginia, representing 48 community banks in the state.  We are affiliated with the Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA).  Working with the ICBA, provides us with the resources to work on the national regulatory policies that affect each of our community banks.
